In this class, we will learn the basics of shooting recurve and longbow in a safe and informative environment. Students with their own equipment, including compound bows, may be able to use their equipment from home with teacher approval. In addition to shooting technique, students will learn relevant terminology for the sport of archery. Each week we will also do a bit of learning about how archery was used in a specific culture and time period around the world. In the case of inclement weather, archery strengthening exercises will be conducted indoors, along with additional learning about the historical significance of archery, archery in tv and film, making fun paper targets for use the following week, and other enjoyable activities.
